Summer Camp Day 7
Joe Loudis came to camp to talk to the students. Here is his background: The leadoff hitter on the 1954 Schenectady Little League World Championship team; he also played on the Schenectady LL team that finished second at the Little League World Series in 1953; he excelled in four sports in high school at MP (tennis, cross-country, basketball and baseball); he was captain of Mont Pleasant's undefeated baseball team in 1960; he played college basketball at Albany State; he has won over 400 games as a high school basketball coach; high school basketball "Coach of the Year" several times; in addition to the SCSD Athletic Hall of Fame, he is a member of the New York State Basketball Hall of Fame and Capital District Basketball Hall of Fame.

Summer Camp Day 5
Students went on their first field trip to SEFCU Arena to watch professional tennis. They all had the opportunity to watch Martina Hingis and the Bryon Brothers play. The NY Sportimes were great to our campers. Each student received a T-shirt and tennis racket.

Summer Camp Day 4
Students work hard to wrap up their first issue of the "Schenectady Sport Journalism Chronicle"!
On Wednesday a group of students chose to stay in and watch the Womens World Cup. They took notes on the USA vs. France game and plan to write an article for the newspaper.

Summer Camp Day 3
Today Mike MacAdam came into speak to our students about being a sport journalist. This was an excellent opportunity for the students to hear from a "real life sport journalist" as they wrap up their first camp newspaper.

Summer Camp Day 2
Today Andrew Catalon from WNYT Channel 13 News came in to speak to the students on sport broadcasting. The students asked their interview questions that they prepared with our staff.
Summer Camp Day 1
On the first day of camp (Monday, July 11th), students developed interview questions for the guest speakers that will be visiting us Tuesdaya and Wednesday.
